TACOS & MICHE 5K RUN (FRESNO)
Every 5K finisher who is 21 or over gets a michelada at the line. The Tacos & Miche 5K Run returns for its second year on Saturday, June 27, 2026, starting at 7:00 AM at the Shinzen Group Activity Area inside Woodward Park, 7775 N Friant Rd in Fresno. Registration is $59.80 for the 5K run or the new 2-mile speed walk. It is a chip-timed event in the Reyes Running Series and counts toward the Central Valley Runner of the Year standings. Free tacos, Mexican aguas frescas, and a michelada come with entry for every participant.
What You Get
Every entrant receives a finishing medal and a michelada beer mug, plus tacos and aguas frescas after the race. Dri-fit shirts are guaranteed only if you registered by June 15, and the beer mug required registering by June 1. Runners in the Reyes Racing Series collect an extra medal. The team that brings the most participants takes home $200 cash. Live banda music from Banda Sinaloense Pura Cajeta plays during the morning, along with a DJ and a dance competition.
The Races and Awards
The lineup is a 5K run and a 2-mile speed walk, with kids races at 400m, 200m, 100m, 50m, and 10m. The top five male and female finishers earn awards. There are Athena awards for women over 185 pounds and Clydesdale awards for men over 225 pounds, on top of the standard age-group awards. Age-group awards are not mailed, so collect yours on race day.
Getting There
The start is at the Shinzen Group Activity Area off N Friant Rd, about a 20-minute drive north of downtown Fresno. Bib pickup runs Friday, June 26 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM at the Fleet Feet store in Fresno, and again on race morning from 5:45 to 6:45 AM at the activity area.
The 21-and-over finish-line michelada and banda music make this a Fresno running event built as much around the post-race party as the course.
