Roeding Park

Roeding Park is a historic park west of downtown Fresno, shaded by tall old trees that keep it cooler than most of the city on a hot day. It covers about 90 acres along Belmont Avenue.

The park holds Fresno Chaffee Zoo, the Playland amusement area with kiddie rides, and the Storyland storybook attraction. There are picnic tables, large lawns, and a small lake.

A per-vehicle fee applies in the busy season. It is an easy spot for a picnic before or after the zoo.
